About Yoshio Nakajima

Yoshio Nakajima is a globally-acclaimed contemporary and experimental artist with an insatiable desire to create art.

Since discovering art in his childhood and dedicating himself to various art movements and events since the 1950's, Nakajima studied art and held exhibitions around Europe for over thirty years.

Nakajima is represented around the world at 35 art museums, serves as the professor and principal of the Saitama Art Academy and has his own museum in Japan.

About this project

I produced, shot and edited this short documentary for Tokyo Weekender exploring Nakajima’s innate desire to create. We spent the day with Nakajima-san on the outskirts of Tokyo, getting to know him and experiencing his art.

The video received over 20,000 views and inspired comments such as “What a beautiful person”, “Truly inspiring” and “This is such an incredibly beautiful video”.
