Yuki Tsunoda for Esses Magazine

I was commissioned by Esses Magazine to create social-first content with F1 driver Yuki Tsunoda, capturing his genuine passion for Japanese cuisine. We shot at Kushikatsu Bon, a Michelin-listed restaurant in Ginza.

Rather than chasing viral hype, the brief was to craft thoughtful, visually rich videos that highlighted Yuki's personality through his love of food. The focus was on building rapport and capturing authentic moments in an engaging way.

These pieces were designed specifically for social platforms, balancing cinematic storytelling with the immediacy of short-form content. The result is a set of videos that feel both intimate and editorial, made to resonate with Esses’ audience who value storytelling as much as aesthetic.

@essesmag Where does Yuki Tsunoda race to when he’s back in Tokyo? We’ve got the answer. Esses and contributor @andychengjp sat down with Yuki at Kushikatsu Bon Ginza in #Tokyo to talk all things #racing, #food, and fans. From golden skewers of decadent chateaubriand to silky shiitake mushrooms, Yuki shares his love for this spot—where simple ingredients are elevated to something extraordinary by the masterful hands and service of Chef Nagasawa. For Yuki, it’s more than just a meal—it’s a taste of home, a ritual, and an experience that keeps him racing back every time he touches down in #Japan.
